Constance Goble

 Constance Goble known as Connie is the third child of Katherine Goble the first African American woman to work as a NASA scientist. Connie was born on 27 April 1943 and died at the age of 67 years due to an illness in 2010.  She was dear to all her family and all the people around her who mourned her loss.

Early Life and Education

When Connie was born her mother and father both were working in NASA. She spent all her early life thinking and talking about air space and crafts. Katherine made sure to enlist her love for mathematics in her children.  Connie was born on April 27, 1943 in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Connie’s family moved to Newport News in 1951 when she was 8 years old. She completed her preschool there and graduated from Carver High School in 1961.

Connie was a determined woman she wanted to achieve her goals in life and for that reason, she wanted to complete her studies first. She went to Hampton University and completed her bachelor’s in mathematics. Connie was a kind woman she worked hard for her community of mixed African, red Indians, and white people. She became a member of many philanthropic sororities and houses.

Parents of Constance Goble

Connie was born in African American House to parents Katherine Goble and James Francis Goble. At the time of her birth, both of her parents were working as teachers. Katherine at that time was completing her further studies in mathematics and physics. Her parents met in university they both were studying the same subjects.

Connie’s father fell ill and her mother stopped her studies to support the family. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor and there were no chances of him fighting it at any cost. James was a fighter he loved his wife to the core and knew that Katherine would sacrifice her dreams to save him or to have more time before his departure. He stood and talked sense into her and they relocated to Newport News, Virginia in 1952 when Connie was just 9 years old. They all said their last words to James and bid them goodbye in 1956.
